The BraveHearts Dragon Boat Team is a team formed under the North Island Dragon Boat Society, a registered non-profit organization and is Canada’s FIRST co-ed ALL Cancers team. Our members are men and women of all ages and walks of life who have one common bond...they have all had Cancer of some type. Some have a history of many years of experience in paddling a dragon boat, while some are new to the sport.
We believe that a diagnosis of cancer, in ANY form, can result in a difficult life journey for the men and women it affects. Through the sport of Dragon Boat racing we believe our team provides its members with a supportive and friendly environment that fosters team spirit, living long and healthy lives, and a renewed spirit for living.
