DBW-TeleVision: A World of Videos
Dragon Boat Net (DBN) always featured films and videos. In 2009 this shifted to DBW-TeleVision, a sister-site also developed by Creative Dragon Works (CDW). DBW-TV started "broadcasting" on October 1st, 2009 and existed until the dragon-boat-media-crash in 2011. DBW-TeleVision offered users to upload their own videos, similar as with YouTube and in addition broadcasting regular news.
The reason why CDW created DBW-TV, was the failure of the previous, American "Dragon Boat Channel", at the time also promoted as DBTV. The drowning of DBTV caused quite a disappointment with the IDBF and so they strongly encouraged CDW to fill the gap. It was a similar situation as seen years before with the magazine DBWI. Giving the new video-site the name Dragon Boat World Television, abbreviated either as DBW-TV or simply as DBWT, showed its close relation to the magazine DBW-International (DBWI).
No matter for whom, be it the IDBF, DBTV, DBW-TV or DBN itself, please find in the Film-Library a great selection of videos and films, all produced by CDW. While most films and videos catch all the action, passion and spirit of dragon boating, some others are truly historical and unique. You will find the only existing video footage about the moment when the IDBF becomes a full member of GAISF, the General Assembly of International Sports Federations. Another very unique and informative one is the Interview with Mike Haslam and Mason Hung which are the people who practically got things rolling and triggered the developments of the modern era in dragon boating.
